Wesr Side Story 2003

Uppsala Musikdramatiska Studio is a drama and musical group
with amateur members who themselves participate in all work
around a project. UMS uses professional leadership and
the result is often very good in matter of quality.
Since the start at 1979 and until today, UMS have performed several shows.
For example: Venus and Adonis- John Blows opera -1979/80,
King Arthur by Henry Purcell -1980/81, The Fairy Queen - Henry Purcell´s
remodeled play with W. Shakespeares "A midsummer nights dream" 1982
and in new version 1989 Ödesspegeln -(The Mirror of faith) Stellan Sagviks
opera written direct for UMS 1983, Acis & Galathea- Händels opera 1984/85,
Fiddler on the roof, musical of Stein/Harnick/Bock 1986,The threepennyopera
by B.Brecht and Kurt Weill 1991 and also 1998, Happy end - by B.Brecht and
Kurt Weill 1994.And at year 2000, Cabaret by Kander, Ebb and Masteroff. In 2003,                                             West Side Story by Bernstein, Sondheim and Laurents,and in 2009                                                                      City of Angels by Coleman, Gelbart and Zippel.
